This is pop music at its finest. The two songs on The Pleasure Kills debut single are both pure of heart, getting stuck in your brain whilst pretending not to notice that popular music long ago turned its back on the simple (but well constructed), pop song. The Pleasure Kills have been subject to some well deserved blogging buzz over this single - and listening now I can see why - the direct approach that these songs take is a refreshing alternative to the crowded and muddled music of the current American underground. In fact - I think that is why this single works so well; these songs are like splashing your face with cold water. A definite must.
